Flash & Javascript Development
This is the personal portfolio of Allison Greene. I want to work with people who value the importance of research & development, and are willing to devote the time to expand their knowledge base. I believe R & D to be an extremely important area, especially in web development. The technology is ever changing and in a constant state of flux.
This site validates to W3C standards and I'm working on making it fully accessible from a print point of view. As much as I love and enjoy the journey through a flash website, I want to continue to delve into the ever expanding world of css, javascript & ajax functionality. Flash unfortunately falls down SEO wise, thwarting a sites chance for easy optimization or proper recognition of the content, ultimately affecting the volume and quality of traffic to the site.
I love code. I love the anticipation of discovering the potential that javascript & ajax possess. I get tiny sparks of excitement thinking of the day that email forms have submit-and-return functionality that don't have to direct you to the senders' originating site in order to finish the process. To be able to serve email apps tailored to the specs of the originating site. Captcha validators with input fields defaulted to capital letters are a designers' consideration that put a smile on my lips. This is the direction for me. The breakthrough of css has empowered and encouraged the design community to push the limits of graphics-heavy design, and it's not nearly finished showing us what it can do.
The script used for the scrolling in this div is from DYN-WEB and can be found here. It requires a license to use, but comes at a reasonable price. There are other fantastic scroller scripts also available without a license, like this script from Live Pipe. Unfortunately, this was not an option for me, as the prototype script it relies on overruled my jquery functionality.
